Evaluation

I enjoyed the mannequin project as I felt I learnt a lot more about fashion photography and more about taking images of models. This project also built my confidence with working with models and taking charge of my own shoot I feel it has helped me to become more independent with my work. I enjoyed that this project was more technical. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about this project was the presentation. I felt I used more technics this project I used depth of field and a lot more angles to what I normally would have. Although I used a lot more angles I feel I still end up picking eye level angles, central images and images with the rule of thirds as these are the images I prefer. If I was to do this project again I would try getting tasks finished on time to allow me to have more time to explore more ideas. Such as another shoot or just exploring different techniques. My inspiration for this project has been Tim Walker. I found his work very interesting and unusual I liked both his projects ‘Like a Doll’ and ‘Mechanical Dolls’. I liked how he wasn’t afraid to be different and think outside the box. The ‘Like a Doll’ project was very interesting I liked the fact the doll was bigger than the model creating the idea the model is the doll. Out of the two shoots the ‘Mechanical Dolls’ was my favourite project of his I liked all the images he shot for it and I liked all the props. Although his work interested me and inspired me in some way I don’t feel it had an impact on my final shoot. My images reflected everyday clothing. I feel he inspired me but I didn’t want to copy his work and went down a more boring route. If I was to do this shoot in the future I would focus on my time managing and try doing something more exciting for a second shoot.
