High key lighting
High key lighting is a modern lighting technique that is based on using greys (mid-tone) and whites. Early film wasn't good at coping with the extreme blacks the lighting was arranged to ensure that the contracts were reduced. High key lighting today has become its own thing and is used very much for fashion and portrait photography.

Low key lighting
Low key is a style of photography the utilizes dark tones to create dramatic and beautiful images low key intensifies to contrast on a image by taking away the light to create striking images. To create low key images you have to be very selective of the lighting so that only the specific places you want to photograph are highlighted.  Low key created striking shadows for low key you have to manipulate your light to get the desired look.

Tiffany Schultz
Although she hasn’t shot a lot for both high key and low key I really like her work I particularly like the images she has shot of animals in high key and low the really work well. She has done quite a lot of portrait work with low key and high key which I don’t like and don’t think the images are as strong as the ones she has shot of the animals
